Setting up the StarSense Autoguider

I tried making this video a couple times. It was too light, too much wind or my voice was muffled. Hopefully this one came out good…

This video is a step by step guide on how set up and use a StarSense Autoguider. I set it up on an AVX mount, however, it would be the same process on any mount. Since I use the CPWI software to control my mount and Autoguider, this is designed for Celestron users.

In the video you will see:
An AVX mount, a 8″ SCT, the StarSense Autoguider, and 100′ USB cable. For software you will see a mobile app by the name of PS Align Pro. I use this to level and align and aim the mount. You will also see Celestron’s CPWI software.

Steps:

  1. Level the mount – with PS Align Pro
  2. Align the mount – with PS Align Pro
  3. Mount telescope to the mount
  4. align telescope – with PS Align Pro
  5. Connect the power and usb cables
  6. Perform alignment with CPWI software
