Vega is the brightest star in the northern constellation of Lyra. It is relatively close at only 25 light-years (7.7 parsecs) from the Sun, and one of the most luminous stars in the Sun’s neighborhood. It is the fifth-brightest star in the night sky, and the second-brightest star in the northern celestial hemisphere, after Arcturus.
I took this image on 7/28/2024 using my 8″ Celestron Telescope, my ZWO ASI2600MC pro camera. The image is 108 stacked frames at 4 seconds each. I simply use SharpCap Live stacking to take the pictures. Very little processing using Pixinsight, just to clean the background noise and bright up the star.
The first image is a zoomed in version of the second (original) image.
