Every time I have tried to get this galaxy something happened. Everything from clouds rolling in to telescope malfunctions. September 4, 2024 was no exception. This is what I got. I started imaging at 12:18 am. It was a super clear night, not a cloud in the sky. The night did not start out good, right after getting the telescope aligned, CPWI disconnected. I noticed that my computer was waiting to do windows updates (GRRR…). I rebooted, put the mount back on the index positions. Performed the Starsense auto-align and SharpCap could not find the camera. I started all over and finally good to go – (HAPPY AGAIN).
Like I said, I started at 12:18 on this target and went to bed. I woke up around 4:30am, I checked on things… And much to my surprise the screen was off. At 2:37am, the computer shut down. What the Hell happened? Luckily, I was taking 4 min subs. I took a shot ant what I had in Pixinsight… And as you can see, I have a decent image…
This image was taken with my 8″ Celestron SCT on an AVX mount. Using CPWI, SharpCap, Celestron Starsense Auto Guider, ZWO ASI2600MC Pro. -10 deg. 65 4 minute subs. I copied the subs and pasted in the same folder, then used Pixinstight’s WeightBatchProcessing to stack. And PixInsight to make the galaxy pop.
