I left both my scopes out on March 4, 2025 because March 5th was also going to be a clear night. With a temperature of 18 degrees Fahrenheit was pretty cold. On the 5th, I went out to make sure I was still polar aligned. When I turned the scope on, the hand controller stated error 17. I restarted and this time I goto error 16. After reading forums. I decided to take the plate off the side of my CGEMII mount. I replaced the battery. I have no idea why, I must have broken a clip, the new battery would not stay in place. I was however able to run the mount with no battery.
Since I cannot keep a battery in place, I now run the mount without battery. Since I use CPWI to control the scope, all seems to be fine. The only thing I notice is changes I make like track with both RA and DEC, does not get stored.
